USES: Lawns, Sodding sides and
bottoms of drainage ditches, Erosion Control areas, Wet
soils areas (not flooded)
Establishment: Medium to fast depending upon the
amount of care that is given. Tolerates wet soil
conditions / partial shade okay.
Adaptation: From the edge of
Virginia and across the southern states to the east side
of Texas. Sandy damp soils of moderate acidity but not
salt tolerant. Likes the humid regions of the south,
especially in coastal areas from Texas to North Carolina.
Very little drought tolerance. Will tolerate acid soils in
a pH ranger of 5.2 to 6.7. Wet sandy or loam soils
are best growing as long as moisture is near surface.
Used in wet lawn areas / slightly shady & damp or in
ditches where moisture is present most of year.
